Ixtapa is located on the Pacific coast 150 miles north of Acapulco. It is a small relatively new resort town providing modern faciliies in a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. One of its beaches, Playa Del Palmar, provides a 2-mile stretch of clean golden sand offering an array of water sports and activities. Nightlife can be a romantic evening at one of the town's beachfront restaurants or an exciting night of dancing and bar hopping at any of the lively nightclubs. Ixtapa boasts an average high temperature of 86 degrees and an average low of 72 degress. With about 340 days of sunshine each year it is truly a Tropical Paradise.
Zihuetanejo is just 5 miles from Ixtapa and easily reached by taxi or local mini bus. It is old Mexico with all of its charm and romance. Zihuat has long been a famous fishing village. It is situated on a tranquil bay that offers beautiful, quiet beaches and romantic open-air restaurants. The local markets are full of hundreds of stalls selling food, crafts, clothing, jewelry, souvenirs, etc. It is where the locals shop and is a bargainer's delight.
